Navigation
Hold Space to temporarily enter pan mode from any tool — drag to scroll the canvas, release Space to return.
Two-finger scroll pans in any direction. Pinch zooms in/out (slower than before).
Shift + scroll zooms in/out using a mouse wheel or one-finger scroll.
F fits the floor plan to screen. + / − step through zoom levels.
Getting Started
Pick a project from the left panel. Buildings and floor plans for that project appear below it.
Add a building with the + next to Buildings, then add floor plans (levels) under it.
Click a floor plan to open it in the canvas. Upload an image to begin tracing.
Upload & Image
Upload Image sets the background for this floor plan. JPG, PNG, or PDF page.
The opacity slider in the toolbar fades the image so traced walls are easier to see. Drag to 0 to see only your walls.
The Image panel (bottom of the left sidebar) controls Background color and Mask settings. BG color sets the canvas background — try a warm cream to make the masked plan easier on the eyes.
Hide Color + Mask toggle removes a chosen color from the floor plan image. Pick the color (usually white), set tolerance, then turn On. The background color shows through where pixels were hidden.
VANTaiGE Trace (AI) auto-detects walls from the image. Upload first, then hit Trace — review and clean up the result.
Wall Tool W
Click Wall in the toolbar (or press W) to enter wall mode.
Click to place vertices. Press Enter or Cmd/Ctrl to finish a segment (needs 2+ points). Escape cancels.
🧲 Magnetic snap (toggle with S) pulls vertices to detected edges in the floor plan image as you draw.
Hold Shift to constrain to horizontal or vertical. Hold Alt while dragging a vertex to unsnap it.
Choose wall type in the sub-toolbar: Exterior (thick), Drywall (interior), or Glass. Hotkeys: E / D / G.
Customize each wall type's color and thickness using the sliders and color pickers in the sub-toolbar.
Click a wall to select it. Cmd/Ctrl+click to multi-select. Shift+drag for rubber-band select. Press Delete to remove.
⌫ removes the last vertex while drawing. Esc once backs out a vertex; Esc twice cancels the whole wall.
Room Tool R
Click Room or press R. Click at least 3 points to outline a room, then press Enter to close it.
Type a name in the popup that appears — press Enter to save or Esc to leave it unnamed.
Click a room to select it. The Room Color sub-toolbar lets you set a fill color per room — saved to the database.
Drag the room label to reposition it anywhere inside the room.
Device Tool V
First activate a layer in the Layers panel on the left — click a device type row (e.g. Network, Cameras). It highlights gold when active.
Then press V or click the Device tool. Click anywhere on the canvas to place a device of that type.
Click a placed device to select it. A gold ring appears. Press Delete to remove it.
With a device selected, the Proposal sub-toolbar controls how it groups in the proposal: Default (follows system setting), Space (grouped under its room), or System (grouped as a system type).
Devices snap to a grid. The icon drawn on each device comes from the Icon Sketcher — see the Layers panel.
Layers Panel
The eye icon toggles visibility for a layer. Hidden layers are not drawn on the canvas.
The lock icon prevents editing. A locked device layer can't be activated for placement.
Visibility and lock states are saved automatically and restored next time you open the tool.
Each system type row shows Sp / Sys buttons — the default proposal grouping for that system. Overrideable per device.
The ✎ button opens the Icon Sketcher. It glows teal when no icon has been drawn yet for that system type.
System types with device sub-types show a ▾ arrow — click it to expand or collapse the sub-list.
Icon Sketcher
Draw a custom icon for any system type using the ✎ button in the Layers panel.
Tools: Pen (freehand), Line (straight), Circle (drag to size), Dot (filled circle). The 20×20 grid maps to the device icon circle.
Use Undo to step back one shape at a time. Clear resets the canvas. Reset restores the built-in default icon.
Save writes the icon to the database — it appears immediately on all placed devices of that type.

Link Floor Plan to Proposal
Select which proposal this floor plan should be linked to. Linking enables room ↔ proposal area sync and product assignment.
A blank canvas will be generated at the size above. You can draw walls and place devices immediately — no image needed.
Delete Floor Plan?
This removes the floor plan and its image from this device. Cannot be undone.

Confirm proposal grouping
For each system, decide where items show up in the proposal:
By Space = items appear under the room they're plotted in (most systems — devices live in actual rooms).
By System = items appear in one bucket for the whole project (use this for things plotted by zone rather than room — typically alarm sensors and surveillance cameras).
This snapshot locks in for this project.
⚠ Heads up: Once you start placing devices, changing these settings won't auto-move
items already added to the proposal. You'd need to manually re-bucket those items. It's best to set these properly now.
